Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters:
You must all be quick to listen,
slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.
James 1:19-20 NLT
Navigating the stresses of everyday living can either help us grow or make us weak. When we rise to the challenge to become people of peace, joy will fill our hearts and the overflow will proceed from our mouths. Take some time today for the seeking of God’s perfect peace and you will not be disappointed. Say a little prayer each day to begin the process.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.
